Use a **comparative adjective + than** to compare two people, places, or things. Short adjectives add **-er** (old β†’ older, big β†’ bigger); adjectives ending in y change to **-ier** (easy β†’ easier). Longer adjectives use **more + adjective** (modern β†’ more modern, difficult β†’ more difficult). Memorize the irregular forms: **good β†’ better**, **bad β†’ worse**, **far β†’ further/farther**. Adjectives of character follow the same rules: generous, jealous, stubborn, moody, anxious, brave, curious, honest, patient, and optimistic can all become comparatives.
